Manassas Man Buys a Transformer

MANASSAS, VA. – Manassas’ Jim Ortte will soon be the proud new owner of Barricade, the Decepticon depicted as a Saleen Mustang cop car in the 2007 Transformers movie.

He purchased the car from MotoeXotica for roughly $100,000 dollars, after finding the company’s eBay listing for one of the three cars of the type in existence.

Ortte, a Mustang enthusiast, claims he bought the car after his 10-year-old son asked him to build a replica. The car is on a flatbed that is expected to arrive at Ortte’s home on Monday or Tuesday.

It is reported that Ortte plans to rent the car out for promotional events, lend it to charity causes, and show it off at car conventions. He sees it as an investment and as purchasing a car he likes. Ortte may be killing two birds with one stone, but it still doesn’t really turn into a giant robot.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Hundreds of Santas descended on the streets of D.C. this past Saturday for an annual worldwide celebration called Santarchy.

Starting from the steps of the National Museum of Natural History to the dance floor of Club Heav

en and Hell in Adams Morgan, the Santas caroled, gave treats to unsuspecting onlookers, and shared a few drinks along the way.

The organizers of Santarchy contend the event is “a non-profit, non-political, non-religious, and nonsensical celebration of holiday cheer, goodwill, and fun.”

Santarchy and Santacon events can be found in over 50 cities, spanning 13 different countries around the world.

For more information there are websites available for both Santarchy and Santarchy DC or one could follow the Santarchy DC Twitter feed.
